CROSSING THE LINEWHEN DO 'CREATIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES' BECOME FRAUD?
Crossing the line. Going too far. The newspaper headlines and nightly news shows have been filled with images of CEO’s, CPA’s, auditing firms, financial advisor and celebrities. People who, only a year ago were hailed for their business creativity, are now being investigated and arrested for business fraud. As crime moves from the streets to the boardroom, the tools for identifying and investigating these crimes must keep pace.
This is an exciting time for Fraud Examiners and Auditors. We must hold the line against corporate fraud. But, it is first necessary to define where this line is and what tools are available to us.
The Long Island Chapter of the Association of Fraud Examiners, in cooperation with our training partner the Long Island Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, are offering training by some of the leading authorities in various types of fraud investigation.
Please join us on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at the Westbury Manor, Jericho Turnpike, Westbury, NY for this full-day seminar, schedule attached. The seminar fee is still only $150.00. This fee includes a continental breakfast, catered sit-down luncheon, and all training materials. There will be 8 Continuing Professional Education Credits awarded at the end of the seminar.
Please reserve early. Space is limited. A reservation form is available on our website www.LICFE.org. The form may be faxed to the chapter at 516-783-0000 or call us at 516-884-8290.
