LICFE - President's Message - Long Island Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

Welcome to the First Edition of the LONG ISLAND CHAPTER's New Newsletter. By now, chances are good that you are either a Member, or have already received at least one solicitation to join and become active in this organization. There has been a lot of talk nationally about grass roots political activity. This Chapter is an example of a grass roots organization and professionalism, at its best.

There are FOUR types of people in the world:
Those who make things happen
Those who watch things happen
Those who wonder what happened
AND, those who come afterwards to just criticize everyone else.

Naturally, the winners in the world fall into the first group. If you either consider yourself a member of the first group, or want to become one, now is the time to become a Charter Member and get active in YOUR CHAPTER. Just because you think that you don't have time to be on the Board or a Chapter Committee, is no excuse for missing this opportunity. Join and participate in our meetings and seminars. Make the time to expand your horizons and contribute to your personal growth, not to mention getting reasonably priced training and CPE Credits-without leaving LONG ISLAND.

We have a very impressive Board of Directors, who are clearly some of Long Island's leading professionals. It has been said that if you have a job to be done, give it to the busiest person you can find and it will be done correctly and quickly. The Board and Committee Members have been proving that on a regular basis.

I am looking forward to personally welcoming each of you to our January 13th meeting. In addition to District Attorney Catterson's presentation, we will also present a "Case of the Month". Almost all related professional organizations will be represented at this meeting. As of now, more than ten organization Presidents have made reservations.

In addition to having a Safe and Happy New Year, you only have one thing to do between now and January 13th-send in your completed application and check (before 12/15/98) to become a CHARTER MEMBER of the LONG ISLAND CHAPTER! Naturally, we will still welcome you as a Member, even if you miss the deadline to become a CHARTER MEMBER. Please complete and mail your application TODAY!
